Hunter College, NYC
A couple of years ago, I was scheduled to give a talk at Hunter College in NYC, but a blizzard prevented me from going there. Finally I was able to re-schedule the event. Wednesday, March 15. It’s an evening event, starting at 7, free to the public. The location is Hunter West 3rd Floor Glass Cafe. 212-772-4295, [email protected]
Collected Works Bookstore
Santa Fe, NM
On Tuesday, March 28, at 6 pm, my author friend (a Pulitzer Prize recipient) James McGrath Morris with be at the Collected Works Bookstore in Santa Fe to talk about his new book THE AMBULANCE DRIVERS: HEMINGWAY, DOS PASSOS, AND A FRIENDSHIP MADE AND LOST IN WAR. I’ll be there to introduce him. In my graduate school years, I studied Hemingway with Penn State’s Hemingway expert, legendary Philip Young. Jamie knew of my background and asked me to look at the manuscript for THE AMBULANCE DRIVERS to see if anything seem “off.” It’s a thoroughly wonderful book, which adds to our understanding of Hemingway while reaffirming the importance of John Dos Passos, a major author of his time but one who unjustly isn’t talked about much these days. It will be an informative, lively evening. While the evening is about Jamie’s book, there’ll be some copies of my own books if anyone wants me to sign them. The address is 202 Galisteo in Santa Fe. The phone number is 505-988-4226 if you can’t be there but you’d like Jamie to sign a copy of THE AMBULANCE DRIVERS for you (or if you’d like me to sign something). The bookstore will mail it.

New York City
I’ll soon post details. But for now, please Google “Thrillerfest 2017”. The conference will showcase MATCH-UP, an anthology of thriller stories written by bestselling female and male authors in collaboration with each other. My contribution, with Gayle Lynds (who co-founded International Thriller Writers with me) is “Rambo on Their Minds,” in which Rambo makes an appearance and yet doesn’t. You’ll understand what I mean when you read the story.
